A fervent 1960s enthusiast, he views the exceptional decade as the most
impressive cultural renaissance of the 20th century and, not surprisingly, feels
recent years and the present can't hold a candle to those long ago, much
cherished and halcyon days. However, he still looks to the future with vestiges
of jaded optimism, hopeful that life might improve to an acceptable level
sometime before the sun burns out.
Recently active in several
groups that played extensively throughout Manhattan, New Jersey and elsewhere,
Scott is currently between bands as he seeks appropriate musicians for a new
originals-oriented pop/rock ensemble.
Not long ago, he also released his first original pop/rock tune as part of an
increasingly well-known compilation CD of home recordings. The self-produced
home demo, "Outside
Looking In" Most prominently, Scott enjoyed getting mentioned in a recent
review in the glossy British music magazine MOJO
Meanwhile, "Heyday," Scott's last pop/rock band, was
retired after a very successful year culminating in a triumphant gig at Club
Bene, the largest room of its kind in New Jersey. The group entertained an
enthusiastic crowd and received encouraging feedback from the management.
Currently in the assembly stage, Scott's new pop/rock band, "The Aysides,"
will soon be playing new gigs in support of the above compilation CD. There are
also plans to record some polished and radio-friendly new songs which should
offer a vast improvement in production quality over the humble home demo of
"Outside Looking In." More on this new band as it develops.
When not busy with musical projects, Scott enjoys quality popular culture when he can find it (a challenging task in these dark times), steps outside occasionally to see if things have improved, socializes with friends every so often, travels whenever possible, wishes things were vastly better than they are and defiantly persists in attempting to create and enjoy an exceptional life instead of merely settling for an ordinary one.
